Theater Productions for Schools

You and your students spend countless hours learning and preparing to deliver a performance of a life time. For many students, this is their first adventure on stage, and we want to contribute to their success by providing support for clear and clean sound.  We have been doing sound for school  productions for more than 25 years.
Our services include everything from full sound design and operation to assisting students/teachers in setting up and operating equipment.  We will augment your sound equipment to ensure your production has the gear that is needed for the job, and our prices are extremely affordable for both elementary and high school performances.

Working with Students

We encourage the students to get involved with the technical aspects of the production.  We require 3 to 4 students to work with us on providing the sound: Two or three will be microphone techs, and one or two will be the sound cue operator

Microphone Tech

Manage all wireless mics before, during and after each rehearsal and show. This includes mounting microphones to the actors, monitoring the battery levels of the microphone, and using the mic check system to ensure each wireless mic is working.

The students will be coached on how to properly mount and monitor the the microphones and how to recover a microphone that is not working.

One or Two Students

Cue Operator

Using a script and software prepared by us specifically for sound, the Cue Operator will follow the sound-script and advance the cues in the cue control application. This will enable/disable microphones as actors speak and sing on stage. In addition, the cue operator will  manage the playback of sound FX and accompaniment tracks (if being used).

The rates include: 

Preparing the microphone/sound cues
Configuring the cue control application
Setting up and striking the sound equipment
Operating the sound and coaching students on theatre sound
Additional equipment to augment what you have at your school
Consumables such as batteries and tape

Please note that wireless microphones are not  included in the production rates, They are listed separately below.  We can provide up to 12 additional wireless microphones from our in-house kits at very low rate. If more than 12 additional wireless mics are needed we can help you rent from local suppliers at the industry rates that are based on the number of units being rented and the length of the rental.

Wireless Microphones

Wireless Microphone Systems Rates

System rates are on a per show basis (typically 10 days) and include:

Handheld and/or belt-pack wireless microphone systems,
Antenna distribution and two directional antennas that will ensure proper radio frequency reception for the wireless kits, 
Delivery, setup, removal, and pick-up of the system,
A radio frequency spectrum scan at your location to identify any possible interference frequencies, and the
coordination and programming of all the microphone frequencies being used in the production to avoid interference/audio drop-out issues.

Please note that ear-set mics are provided separately and are not part of the system rates
